Strategic Planning Director

Job Overview:

Conducts market research, competitive analysis, and business planning activities in a highly-integrated fashion taking into consideration spectrum holdings, network and technology deployment, ecosystem development, use case considerations, segment users, price value propositions, channel strategies, underlying economics, and market sizing. Performs modeling activities to organize various data sets and produce information that can be shared with internal and external audiences. Prepare Executive-level presentations across a variety of assignments that provide summary information on potential partner opportunities, market trends, competitive developments. Manage business case analysis to evaluate specific market opportunities. Identify and consider relevant third-party research and industry reports that serve as inputs to the company’s strategy development and tracking of market developments.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of market/competitive analysis and business planning projects, including:
    • Communicating with internal clients to understand and define objectives
    • Identifying third-party research and industry reports
    • Creating internal and external materials to describe and dimension the connectivity market
    • Developing analytical work product
    • Evaluating and recommending various strategic alternatives
    • Conducting research and analysis for various partnership opportunities
    • Presenting results to internal clients

Special Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Comfort analyzing large data sets and expressing those concepts clearly so there is a good, general understanding among diverse audiences
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills and able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with and meet the needs of internal clients
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • 7-10 years of experience in a quantitative or qualitative analysis role
  • Expert Excel and PowerPoint user, Proficient in Word
  • Experience in telecommunications, or technology environment preferred
